session #50 (!): 2 sets on the upper-body circuit and 3.3mi in ~43m. Peak speed 7.5mph for like .8 of a lap.

I bounce back and forth between arm and shoulder stations, with ab crunches in the middle. 12 reps x 50# easily on chest press and arm extensions, 12 reps at 70# routinely on ab crunches, 12 reps x 50# with difficulty on arm curls, and stalled at 9 reps at 50# on the overhead press. On the second set, I backed off to 30# for everything but ab crunches, but by the time I hit the overhead press I was so tapped that I couldn't finish the set at 30#. I think I need to reverse my circuit order so I'm fresher for my weakest stations. Also Saturday I hope to take a leisurely tour of the machines and see what I need to hit to build up my no-butt whitey glutes for better running and sprinting.

Running, I didn't do my usual half-lap walking warm up; I just hopped on and set speed to 5.7mph for 3/4 mi. After a cooldown I did the .8mi at a 7.5mph run. Obviously I was shooting for the full lap, but breathing held me back. Cooldown, a half mile at 6.0mph, cooldown, and finished with the final half mile at 5.7mph.

I came home to a package full of candy (and a shirt) from Mom. I ate the chocolate Santa and Hanukkah gelt (no idea, really, when I was a kid it was stamped as pirate gold) last night, and the lemon shortbread cookies, Whoppers and M&Ms this morning in lieu of coffee. For late-ish lunch I went with a (plain) bagel toasted with cream cheese instead of my usual egg+cheese (on multigrain), and caught up with caffeine. For 60 cents more I think the egg+cheese is a better value, just for the protein. After the gym I went with the Subway omelette. My sandwich artist remembered I prefer turkey to ham and made that substitution without a fuss.
