In the morning Miss Cupcake asked if I was up to revisit Blowing Rocks Preserve, and I said if we were going to do an outing I'd rather go someplace we hadn't been before, like the monastary/museum at St. Bernard de Clairvaux in Miami.

So we fueled up the Passat and did that and took lots of pics and it was gorgeous and inspiring and I'm so glad we went. Then we had lunch at a restaurant called "Little Havana" on Biscayne Blvd in North Miami. The interior decoration was a little kitschy but it was clean, service was good, her vaca frita was amazing and my chicken churrasco v.good.

I figured it'd be good to get another museum in, not realizing the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is part of a campus that also includes the Frost Science Museum, walkable waterfront, Arsht Performing Arts Center etc. So we got there around 4 with the PAMM closing at 6 and decided nah, we'll come back and make a day of it sometime.

From there we went to the Design District, from the ultra-fancy jewelry and handbag shops in the center to the public art installations and workspaces on the fringe. It was sunny, hot and humid so that drained us a bit, but fun and we took more pics.

After that we were overheated so we drove over to hunt parking near the World Erotic Art Museum in South Beach. We lucked out and got a spot directly across the street, and cooled off with frappucinos at the *bucks on the corner before heading upstairs to the WEAM.

The lighting was not great, many items were unlabeled, and we felt it should have been better organized by era, but the collection was enormous and varied and reflected facets from tragic to comical to clinical to sublime.
