The other day at the same time I was formulating the question "is repeatedly verbalizing complaints a bad cognitive habit?" (to which, as expected, science answered a resouning "yes"), I was also shaping up a thought (Reddit style, because a hypothesis I'll tender in a moment) like "DAE find it exhausting to have to verbalize explanations for every 'hmm' and grunt?"

Why Reddit style? I think the peculiar dialectical modes of Reddit have evolved because they're effective. "Does Anyone Else (x)" is a technically terrible gloss for "chime in if you also feel this way", but everyone intuitively understands the intent
