Started the morning with a hankering to listen to the Butthole Surfers' "Rembrandt Pussyhorse and Cream Corn from the Socket of Davis", and then about halfway I felt like I needed something a bit less outre, more refined.
"“Symphony No. 25 in G minor,†written when Mozart was 17 years old and characterized by an interplay of light and dark passages. It’s considered Mozart’s first “mature†symphony." As soon as it started playing, I recognized it from previous passes at his work. 26-28 are not particularly memorable, but 29 (after the short prelude) is instantly recognizable.
1 year ago we toured The Grotto
5 years ago, I was 2 months into the Ch13 plan. Somehow a flurry of 5-year anniversaries relating to that turning-point passed without reflection.
