I recapped in more detail in my offline journal and then I realized... I keep a spreadsheet of game goals, it's a lot faster and simpler to just look at what I have on my plate than to postmortem each bite.
DI.fm's gabber stream is no more. I've found a suitable replacement at Toxic Sickness online radio.
Having perfected and embellished my base 5-bean stew recipe, I think it's time to try some isolated lentil efforts. The great thing about the 5-bean dish is the variety of textures and the hearty meld of flavors, which makes it suitable for 2-3 meals in a row. This is probably not true of lentils, or wouldn't be for long. Lentils are tops for protein-per-serving among beans, and perhaps among raw, un-isolated vegetable sources in general. And they don't need soaking, which cuts down prep time drastically.
Last shopping run I went with pubilx's house brand of dry lentils. An actual meal would probably be more like 3/4 cup dry, and you'd want to mix in some veggies, and rice or barley, to provide internal variation. I've never cooked with barley before and I'm curious to try, so I think that will be today's cooking lesson.
