Shrimp, crab, avocado + red onion cocktail w/bloody mary cocktail sauce, paired with "My Antonia" - a richly hoppy, malty brew Apple + roquefort cheese tart, paired with 90 minute IPA Asparagus + lobster salad w/ champagne vinaigrette, paired with Midas Touch. I previously thought I wasn't keen on the feety notes of Midas Touch but I might be thinking of a different DFH "ancient" brew, namely Theobroma. bye bye FFXI: I started playing FFXI in mid-2004. In 2010 I got bored and disgusted with the deliberately slow rollout of Abyssea content and level limit bumps, and felt slighted by the devaluation of the Promathia achievements we had struggled so hard for. And at the same time I felt like the release of FFXIV meant FFXI was in its twilight, and that with my obsessive-compulsive-leaning psych profile, that perhaps MMOs in general needed to be a once-in-a-lifetime thing for me. Recently one of my clients, having got their feet wet in the muck of email marketing, decided to wade in up to their junk. During the feet-wet phase they were targeting relatively small lists, using a piece of software called Sendblaster. SB basically combines a WYSIWYG html email editor with an MS Jet database facility and an SMTP server. The problem with the pre-2000 Jet engine component is that it's limited to a 1GB database file size. Through trial and error I found that this translates to a single ... (...more)

session #48: 3.3mi / 41m28s. 1mi at 5.7mph (best 1-mile speed yet), recover, 1 mile, recover, and finish at speed. Upper-body machine work was pretty much the same as last night, although this time I started with my troublesome overhead press, so I managed an initial set of 11 reps at 50#. Yeah, not the whole 12, but I was only doing 30# when I added the Cybex equipment to the routine so it's all good. Lunch: Subway footlong omelette. session #47: initial sets on upper-body machines: ~10 reps @ 70# / chest press (that's new) 12 reps @ 70# / ab crunch (that's not) 10 reps @ 50# / overhead press 12 reps @ 50# / arm extensions - may graduate to 70# soon 10 reps @ 50# / arm curls (v.hard at the end) On the second set (and third if I'm feeling it), I lose a few reps, and finish out the set with another 6 reps at one weight plate lighter. The chest press seems too easy; I feel like I must be doing something wrong if I'm dogging 50# on... (...more)
