After doing my thing at [the office] all day, I am tired. Nothing sounds better than [curling up] somewhere in our hosts' home, with a pass at the [eternal buffet] laid out in the lowest living room. The home of the family hosting mine is like a modern-day wizards' [tower], perhaps a [Frank Lloyd Wright] design, of stucco and red brick shingle and glass, nestled among green hills and palm trees. Everyone else is already there, I let myself in and say my hellos and climb the stairs to the kitchen. There ... (...more)

Stuff needs to get put away... the living room is full of my books and notebooks and computer parts, and other people's stuff. It's a big project but I get all my junk contained in a more orderly fashion in my own room. Next comes the kitchen - dirty dishes and groceries that somehow never made it to cabinets and fridge - and some of this stuff should really be refrigerated - orange juice, cooked broccoli, jam. 2 dreams, not sure of order or if/how they segued. I was in prison and I had to take a dump and there was this constant parade of other inmates (some men, mostly women, none particularly scary) who were apparently oblivious to my embarrassment and need for just a moment of privacy to wipe my ass. One woman just kept nattering on and on until I confronted her - "did you hear me? I said I'd like just a minute or two of privacy to wipe my ass? So why are you still here? Are you deaf? Are you listening? Can... (...more)

Another short-ish guild battle last night. One glass of wine made me very sleepy, I was probably asleep by 11PM. Dreamed I was poolside and the cat, who was Ivan but tiger-striped like Lucky but fluffy like Miso, evidently thought he could walk on water. The first time he sank to bottom and sprang right back out. The second time he did not reach bottom fast enough, and I had to dive in and rescue him. He did not seem to have inhaled any water. The bunny came over and cuddled and comforted him too. The I... (...more)

Understanding the coffee > adrenaline > fat breakdown chain has really changed how I think about coffee. Today I learned that adrenaline is epinephrine, and noradrenaline is norepinephrine. Epinephrine is the term used in the U.S. because Parke-Davis named their concentrated adrenaline product "Adrenalin" and the U.S. medical community decided to change nomenclature rather than risk confusion of the hormone in general with that specific product. So when I was on that SNRI, it was inhibiting reuptake of ... (...more)
