Apparently at some point somebody decided "show", "series" or "program" weren't precise enough to include "video serieses that aren't produced for streaming, cable or broadcast TV" and somehow an Apple iPod-specific coinage stuck. That's all a "podcast" is, regardless of whether it's paywalled or free on Youtube or whatever: a series of videos. It could be just audio if you don't have anything visual to ever convey. I mean, that's a format that managed to enthrall audiences from say the mid-late 20s to say 1955 when America reached the tipping point where 50% of households had a TV, I guess.

Probably the best known D+D podcast is Critical Role. Once a month leaves me very hungry for D+D between sessions. Castle Age and more recently RotMG don't have enough "story" to scratch that itch. So I started listening to CR Campaign 1 ("Vox Machina") Episode 1.
