BulkFoods SPI powder review
The website doesn't list nutrition info, but the packaging has labeling:
91 servings (per 5# bag) x [ 21g protein / 80 cal ] @ ~3 Tbsp (25g) per srv.
This gives a protein index of .2625, and pure protein is only .2500; ergo, in rounding, the calories have become understated or the protein overstated. (One wonders what the remaining 4g non-protein fraction per 25g whole product could be, that it supplies 0 (or less than zero, lol) cal.)
On mixing, the BulkFoods product is less viscous and the soy flavor is less pronounced; 1 Tbsp cocoa flavor did distinctly break through. That all makes sense if it's purer protein than the BulkSupp product. For p.index purposes I'm making the optimistic assumption that the protein datum is the more accurate p.index factor, and interpolate minimum calories via
:: 4 cal per p.gram = 84 cal / 21g serving.
3 Tbsp is an awkward measure. 4 Tbsp is 1/4 cup.
:: Refactoring gives [4/3 * 21g] == 28p.grams and 112 cal per 1/4 cup.
Bigger servings means less servings per 5# bag: 3/4 of 91 = 68.25 refactored servings.
I guesstimated the box this shipped in at 6" x 6" x 6" = 216 cubic inches, which is .935 gallon;
... but the loose SPI contents did not fit in a 1-gallon container :#
