Q. What do cancer, brain health and testosterone have in common? A. The government has been promoting LIES about how marijuana impacts them all, for generations. They told us "pot causes cancer! at least as bad as cigarettes, probably more because there are more chemicals in the pots!" But as it turns out, people who smoke marijuana are less likely to get cancer than tobacco smokers, and smokers who smoke BOTH are less likely to get cancer than their tobacco-only counterparts. Whether or not you believe "the law" in general was put to death at the cross, Matthew 19:16-19 tells that Jesus plainly affirmed at least some of the mitzvot: 1. You shall not murder, 2. You shall not commit adultery, 3. You shall not steal, 4. You shall not bear false witness, 5. Honor your father and mother, and, 6. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Rainy Saturday. A new year is an attractive time to try out new organizational tools, so I tried to get into Lifehacker's article about using Github lists ("gists") as to-do lists, but the price of Github privacy ($7/mo), and the git learning curve, were turn-offs. But then, just to try it, I made a test-list "secret" and it didn't demand a payment method, so maybe I'm onto something here. The ancient Jews practically invented the concept of "a wall around the law", from whence the mitzvot "thou shalt not cook lamb in it's mother's milk" became the elaborate kosher kitchen, with separate serving sets for meat and dairy. They also had an enormous superstition against dishonoring their name for God, to the extent of even mincing it in writing lest the writing be destroyed or defaced - hence our modern rendering of YHWH, sans vowels, because there remains no reliable documentary evidence ...
