Slept fairly well, ears are still making a lot of gloopy noises but at this point I'm not sure if it's even unusual anymore, or if I just got hyper-sensitized during that congestion spell. Coffee, vitamins, hot pockets, cheez-its and V8 for brekky. Herbivorous dinosaurs may have emitted as much as 500M tons of the greenhouse gas methane annually. I think last time, I used too much water, cooked my beans too long, and could have used a good deal more flavor. The "quick soak" step says boil 2 minutes, cover and let cool 1 hour. I think my hot plate stays hot for so long that by the time it gets to boiling, you may as well turn it off because it's going to stay hot enough to sustain boiling action for more than 2 minutes. Second encounter with the TrūRoots quinoa. This time I made a double recipe: 1 cup dry to 2 cups water, scaling back the boullion proportion with 1 rounded and one level ghetto teaspoon of chicken boullion. Per package directions: bring to a boil, lower to simmering 15 minutes, let stand 5 minutes and fluff. This came out MUCH softer than the first time, maybe because the double recipe effectively halved the ratio of evaporation surface to cooking volume. Scaling back the boullion was a good move ...
