A couple days ago Miss C. observed I don't blog about our relationship, in contrast with previous relationships e.g. L.- or Gamer Girl. Mostly this is just a matter of etiquette - let the Dan Savages and Cara Sutras air intimate details en blogue, and indeed kudos to them for their courageous candor about their intimate lives, to reflect some light into our own. But even though I suspect my in-depth readership does not exceed Miss C. and myself, I see only downside to airing anything in my blog that I wouldn't chat about with a mutual real-life friend.
First, simply because even if I choose to reveal MY vulnerable inner life, it's not my job or privilege to reveal HERS. And second because, knowing she does follow my blog, licensing myself to relate intimate tensions could easily slippery-slide into misusing it to avoid uncomfortable face-to-face negotiations - as the dialogue-starter, or worse, as a one-way amplifier to vent without feedback.
