Yesterday was a no-gym day, so I thought I'd get some time in on the Cybex machines before a client visit and a treadmill run after. This ignored something I learned Sunday, namely that 3 sets on 9 machines takes a lot of time. Sunday I got there before 5:30, knowing they close at 8, thinking I had plenty of time. By the time I lifted and ran and showered, it was 15 minutes to closing. And we know it takes me 45 minutes to run my run, so the lifting was upward of 90 minutes.

So, getting there at around 2 today, it was silly to think I'd do 3 sets and run and shower and still have a meaningful amount of client time. Also, by that point I was feeling the effects of having eaten nothing all day but a PowerBar and some smilk, so I ended up doing only a half-mile at 6.5mph on the treadmill before I hit the showers. Oh, and when I was getting office attire together, I forgot to take my belt from my other pants. I could probably have gotten away with untucking my shirt but it was a camel back straw sort of thing.

leg curls: 12+x 90#
squat press: 16+x 230#
rear delt row: 6x 90# / 6x 50#
lat pulldown: 6x 90#?
overhead press: 10x 70#
arm curls: still dogging 50# reps
ab crunch: 14-16x 110#; 130# is still non-start
arm extension: 10-12x 70#
chest press: 6-10x 110#

.5mi / 6.5 mph = ~5 minutes including time to get the 'mill up to speed. I really meant to slow down to 6.0 but tapped the Stop button by mistake, and there was that camel back straw thing again.

Soooo if I can regiment my days more effectively, it might be ideal to alternate running and lifting days, where running has become the quicker of the two and lifting more sensitive to gym traffic.
