Last night I made what's becoming a standard dish: half a bag of Alma whole-wheat fusilli and half a bag of chickpeas I'd cooked from dry earlier in the week, tossed in oil and balsamic vinegar. This time I added a little crumbed blended parmesan+romano cheese. Actually I thought it was rather a lot of cheese, but the balsamic vinegar drowned it out. I didn't even use all that much vinegar. The cheese isn't a good condiment value unless you put it on really bland foods.

I ate about half of that by ~10PM, bed ~midnight and woke briefly with mild indigestion around 2AM. A few sips of smilk and I was back in bed and fine 'til morning. Breakfast was the usual coffee, vitamins, muffin. Lunch was the rest of the fusilli/chickpea salad, then I drowsed/napped on and off in the early afternoon and started to develop an irritated stomach, now with a slight wine-y reflux. After grocery shopping between storm bands, I had a microwave turkey pot pie, which diluted but didn't eliminate my sour stomach. Hungry again 60-90 minutes later or just unable to differentiate at this point between hunger and irritation, I had my usual burrito trio, and something in that only jacked up my stomach irritation. Never to the point of feeling like my esophagus is being eaten away (because I do have OTC antacid chewables for that) or nauseous, just palpably aware that something is less-than-healthy between my sternum and navel.
