My electric toothbrush seems to have seized up. Full charge, but red blinking light and no vibration when I click the power button. I got it in May 2015 and the same make/model for Mrs in 2018. If I can't adopt hers, then I guess I have to order a new one.

This article shows how to replace the battery, with some desoldering/resoldering required, but eff that. (Mine is a "Type 3756".) If they sold a kit to mod it, to make subsequent battery replacements solderless, I might bother. Mine cost $39.99 in 2015, Mrs was only 27.38. $40 in 2015 is about equivalent to $52~53 now.

I have almost certainly investigated this before and it seems little has changed: rechargeable electric toothbrush with easily-replaced batteries is not something the manufacturers seem to be interested in bringing to market. The complaints with electric toothbrushes that use commodity batteries are that the toothbrush itself tends to die shortly out of warranty, or doesn't deliver enough power. Bottom line, mine has served me very well and I guess buying 1 every 9 years is not too taxing.
