I wondered how much cinnamon one would have to consume to have a measurable or "likely" health benefit. In pharmacology there's a process of finding the "therapeutic window", which is often variable from subject to subject depending on factors like age, weight, sex, interactions with other medications, etc. For cinnamon it's also dependent on strains and sources; Ceylon cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum, "true" cinnamon) has only trace amounts of coumarin, while Asian C. cassia strains may have around 1% - but still widely variable across 1-2 orders of magnitude. Moreover there's a question of what compound(s) we're targeting in cinnamon - is it the coumarin? cinnamaldehyde? And then all that has to be balanced against reported contamination with heavy metals.

TIL the Media Player version in Win11 has no setting or even a registry hack to force "repeat by default", making it less set-and-forget (i.e. less functional) than the WMP version in Win10.
r e g r e s s i v e Fortunately VLC does remember its "loop" and "disable screensaver" switches between uses. It does an annoying taskbar icon focus-blink with each loop, but I guess I can live with that.
