Yellowstone S5 pt 2: ...now I remember, there are no likable central characters. A few kids, some of the cowboys (e.g. Jimmy, Teeter) who aren't complicit in the ranch's murderous machinations. Kayce knows about "The Train Station" and as a former Navy SEAL he has to have the moral discernment to know there's something fundamentally wrong with the ranch repeatedly solving its chronic solvency/security problems with murder.
The rattlesnake scene feels kind of dumb, knowing that prairie rattlers are also indigenous throughout Montana. The ranch is supposed to be near Bozeman, which would be well-acquainted with rattlers at its elevation of 4800'.
