but as of noon it's def more than 1 inch. Hope it cleans up some before overnight freeze. More snow tomorrow?
I guess at some point earlier in the week I set my alarm for 6:30a every day of the week.
Which is OK; routine is good, just I forgot I did that. I don't think that woke Mrs.
first up to let doggos out and do the morning dietary usuals before dawn
200mg caf ~11:30
2 pizza eggs slices: 2x (pepperoni pizza est 18g + jumbo eggs 8g) == 52g
- 1/8 Lg (18") plain NY style indie shop pizza: approx 14 p.grams / 350 cal == .0400 p.index, "D" tier
- same, w/pepperoni: approx 18g / 425 cal == .0424 p.index, barely "D+" tier
I ordered 5# soy protein powder ~11-10, rcvd ~11-14? Serving size refactored to 1/4c gives about 68 servings of 28 protein grams per 5#. That was $40+change plus 5+change shipping, under $46 total. Free shipping was available at $75+/order, but I wasn't going whole-hog until I knew the flavor and miscibility were acceptable. And that's the best price I know of for a vegan full-spectrum protein bev base. It's running out in about a week and I've been happy with quality, so I'm in for the 2x5# free-shipping resupply.
Peppermint leaf powder is less-processed/more "natural" vs. food-grade oil/extract; and easier to packetize in daily pods; but not cost-efficient.
Supermarket retail for McCormick peppermint extract is $5.79 / 1 oz. The container is wasteful of product, being hard to control dribbling unless you use a dropper (not included); and wasteful of packaging, being plastic. Even if it was neatly contained in an eco-friendly glass bottle though: several times more cost-efficient to buy a 16oz ("culinary" size) supply. I considered WebstaurantStore but apparently they don't use common residential shipping carriers so they wanted upward of $19 to ship a $6, 8oz trial supply of Shanks peppermint extract. They do have a "free shipping membership" program that is far from free at $99/month. No idea what the target market for that is.

For our final session of the DD5E campaign that started in 2019, our DM hand-waved that we had amassed enough loot and favors from the restoration of Phlan to buy one wondrous item of choice, each. We had a week to think about it, and I entertained an Ioun Stone of Mastery, but this morning it hit me: nothing matches the flexibility of a Ring of Three Wishes.
With little ado, we were pulled into an extraplanar arena to pit our swords and spells against 3 champions of Tharizdun. The Chaos avatar was grueling, and afterward I burned the first Wish to restore everyone to full health and remove debuffs. The Decay avatar was a bit easier and we used spells and potions to top up for the final stage: Tharizdun's own avatar.
I quickly noticed most of Tharizdun's attacks dealt Force damage. I had to spend another Wish to restore party health and remove Fear debuffs in round 1. In round 2 I spent Tuzo's Action Surge to escape Tharizdun's Black Hole spell, and spent the last Wish for party immunity to Force damage. In round 3 our cleric got a Daylight spell running to counter the Darkness, but Tuzo whiffed with all 3 of his melee attacks anyway. In round 4, I scored a hit; another whiff; and finally a very satisfying crit! for 70 points of damage.
We were past 6:30pm in the real world, and our DM decided we had annoyed Tharizdun enough that he sent us back to the Prime Material Plane. I said - Wait! If we have given the incomparable paragon of cosmic evil a moment's entertainment, I would ask a boon! ...and flubbed my Charisma check. 4 on the d20, -1 because 9 Charisma. So, no boon. Tuzo ostensibly retires to work with Clank on figuring out how to seize immortality by binding his soul to the Plane of Shadow, but without all the human sacrifice entailed by the methods of the creep wizard Kelvin (from "Return to White Plume Mountain").

CA: inSync guild activity has slowly tapered off to where it's hit-or-miss whether anyone at all joins me for 5/6pm 100v100 battles or any 10v10. There are 10+ guilds we never win against, and a handful more that we only win sometimes in off-hours if they're completely inactive. So, starting from the top of the list of winning-est guilds, yesterday I contacted a Redemption guild officer about filling one of their 2 open seats. Still waiting to hear back.
