Full backup from scratch onto the 128GB thumbdrive took until almost 9 am, just short of 24 hours.
Part of the slowness was due to Reflector choking on 2 very large files:
- the ~10GB Miaraka archive, which I tossed; and
- 9.8GB zip archive of scans of Dad's photos et al.
I'm torn about summarily deleting scans of his Alaska road trip pics, or cruise with Karen, or occasion cards.
Probably would've helped if I'd scanned to a compressed format (JPEG) instead of raw TIFF.
I don't have it in me to go through and convert ... dozens? hundreds? of scans now though.
The fallback is breaking out sets into smaller archives that won't jam the backup engine.
With this and the delete of the Mariaka archive, Reflector is reporting job size of 78.7GB.

Predictably, the guildmaster of my until-recently CA guild angry-messaged to slag my move to Elite Owls. Basically "they're terrible people, you're probably a terrible person too, I'll have my revenge on the battlefield" blah blah blah. Characteristic brittle-tempered cynical rant; not the first; won't miss this about her.
