Session 10: 3.3mi / 50min, peaked at 5.8 or 5.9mph. My best jog phase was half a lap at something like 5.5mph, then slowing to 4.8ish to complete the lap. I was feeling a bit off-peak throughout the run, which made my form a little sloppy. I think that has something to do with what I'm eating and/or when; I might get back in the swing of energy bars if it strikes a better balance between feeling torpid as much as 4 hours after a protein-heavy meal, and being distracted by hunger signals halfway through a run. Anyway, I can't have been off by much, since I made my 50-minute mark and squeezed some new peaks from the jog phases.

They got some ventilated rubber mats for the shower aisle of the locker room, but may favorite shower (with the detachable showerhead) was missing the faucet handle. I wished I had a hex-key set with me to relocate the handle from the working shower to the preferable one. Also, there's been a patch of chewing gum on the floor of the non-preferred stall since I started going, months ago.

I really did think about running out a full hour, but once I matched my previous 50-minute record, all I wanted to do was cool down, rinse off and go home. Maybe if I break up the cardio into two phases, shooting for new speed peaks in the first half-hour, then restraining myself to a tightly structured pattern for the second half. I know I CAN do an hour; I just have to psych myself for time rather than distance.
