When I put fon on charger last night, suddenly once again it was doing the annoying things:
- waking with motion like holding upright (Glance app)
- full-screen brightness/contrast pulsing fade-in/out
- ignoring lock screen clock widget customizations
Searching Settings for Glance fails; you have to
open Settings : Apps : All Apps : scroll alphabetical list to Glance : Force Stop + Disable
This is the 3rd or 4th time and happens just infrequently enough that I forget exactly how I fixed it last time. I don't know why the system periodically decides "let's try to force the user to try Glance again" and re-enables it. It's not a full-system update/refresh. Restarting the device doesn't cause or cure it. I suppose it could be partly Moto's fault and if so, it's not specific to this fon model. But I suspect it's mainly evidence of Alphabet neglecting audit/cleanup in the Glance subproject.
(I mean, actually yes I do know why Alphabet wants its device OS to engage at a glance: because it's a revenue stream to keep users engaging with devices at every possible moment, selling every possible attention-behavioral metric.)

When I learned about the Harvard "portfolio" LDL-lowering regimen, I went all-in, to the extent of sourcing soy isoflavone (capsules) and phytosterol isolate (powder). To make it manageable I also got a set of little jars to daily-packetize the isoflavone by half-capsule, with creatine powder and phyosterol powder. Then BulkSupp was out of phytosterol when it was time to resupply, so I ordered capsules from a different vendor. I quickly learned that trying to sort and swallow 4 big capsules in a mouthful of creatine powder is more challenging than one might think; much easier to wash each cap down individually with a modest sip of beverage, and take the powder separately. That kind of scuttles the powder-packetizing jar concept though. I'm back up to daily
- small mason jar of soy protein powder with cocoa ready to mix into a bev
- smaller jar of loose creatine powder and 1/2 isoflavone powder capsule
- 4 phytosterol caps from 1 jar
- 1 multivitamin tablet from another jar
... Which wouldn't be a big deal in my own space; but since I'm making every effort to keep my accessories from littering our hosts' space, every morning I'm fumbling in dim light to gather supplements to bring down to the kitchen (to mix and heat bev to wash down supplements) without waking Mrs. So what does that mean, do I also have to invest in a set of daily pill-minder containers? What else, a set of little pouches to packetize each day's protein powder jar, loose powder jar, and capsule/tablet case?
