Firefox: you have to log in to Mozilla account for VPN access, ergo (theoretically) your activity on the VPN can still be tied back to an identity. But Mozilla is a not-for-profit with a privacy-first mission and history of resisting identity tracking partnerships. They track the amount of data usage (because they impose a generous 50GB data cap on free VPN usage), but identifying information is decoupled from their VPN partner Fastly's worst-case view of user traffic.
