lipid support for multivitamin uptake, revisited:
- a minimal amount of fats/oils (3g) is adequate for A uptake; D uptake is optimal at more like 11g
- excessive fat (30g+) potentially hinders uptake
- a serving of walnuts packs 20g of fats (2g sat.fat, well within healthy 13g daily cap)
For dietary regimentation, that's great bc - instead of lining up a vitamin on waking and then having to wait out the hour window after caffeine dosing, I can just tuck the vitamin chew into my snack/lunch walnuts container and know I won't have to fuss with an olive oil dose in office.
EVOO is touted for polyphenol / antioxidant value, but the clinically optimal dosage might be as high as 4 Tbsp - a significant chunk of daily calories (~480). 1 Tbsp is at the low end of studied protocols - i.e. it doesn't hurt (unless you're already chronically over calorie budget) and probably helps a little, but it's not "strongly recommended" at the 1 Tbsp dosage level.
