low-friction morning even with a shower: opened ofc 7:29 \o/
what went right:
protein / supplement pods prefilled
lunch pre-assembled ready to bag
clothes ready (could packetize briefs/socks/undershirt better)
bath countertop space sufficiently clear
- didn't empty dishwasher
- I eat a tofu sandwich every weekday, so it feels unsupportive that I have to pull the toaster down from a cabinet to toast a ciabatta every time
- a toaster oven would be more versatile
[retroactively added Fri 10-02] I think my replacement ring arrived this day? I love it~

I think I'm done with my Bath + Body Works phase and can move on to Zest bar soap (not Aqua! see below!)
... at least until I find something equally or more economical, fragrance-free
... or learn how to make my own - it's chemistry one can do at home
top reco's:
Zest Hospitality Amenities: via online bulk suppliers only; dye-free, low-scent, low-scum, $.15-.25/oz?
Kirk's Coco Castile Fragrance Free: scent/dye-free, low-scum, .45-.60/oz WF, Weaver St ?
Basis Sensitive Skin bar (w/chamomile, aloe): under $2 / bar Warmalt (Tgt online-only; not walgreens, cvs)
- try Tarheel Town Pharmacy / Carrboro? prob as much as 2x Warmalt pricing
Clearly Natural Glycerin Unscented bar: $2-4 / bar? check Weaver St Mkt; Sprouts
Dove Sensitive Skin bar (25% moisturizer; technically not even soap): $1.35-1.50 / bar in 6+ bulk / Tgt
- HT (Carrboro) often has "buy 2 get 2" sales offsetting higher shelf price
not competitive:
Dr Bronner's bars: easy to find, more economical and less drying than liquid versions;
- - $4.75-5.50 / bar still non-competitive with Kirks; can cause scum in harder water
Dr. Squatch bar soaps: not low-scum due to formulation; very not dye-free; $1.30+ / oz
why bar soap, not liquid body wash? low pkg overhead; less plastic; more cleansing action per ounce.
liquid body wash is still OK for travel if you can't count on host provisioning.
