A little closer, but still not current on balance / forecast sheets. Sat down several times over the weekend to try to get into that groove, but we're not mind-readers so I guess from the outside it looked like leisure and I have to explicitly declare and block off uninterrupted time to stay on top of "Finance Officer" responsibilities?

Damon Runyon was a journalist and short story writer. Some of his stories were adapted into the musical "Guys and Dolls". In 1946 Walter Winchell established the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation; one of its programs is a grant to retire medical school debt of promising cancer research physicians.

Apparently GSheets and Word had a navigation pane / sidebar feature for 10 years, but the convenience and focus-assist of that didn't pop out at me until 2025, when I started embracing the GSuite tabbed Docs feature (introduced 2024). LibreOfficer Writer also has "Navigator" pane comparable to MSWord - but its default view is also littered with pointers to tables, images, bookmarks, comments. You can filter it to show only headings (Content Navigation View icon in the pane). In Word, a single click on a nav-pane item jumps to the corresponding heading; in Writer it takes a double-click.

The problem with GDocs's tabbed doc concept is it does not translate to offline native formats (DOCX / ODT). I think Reddit's evolution (specifically toward sweeping algorithmic bans and abandonment of human appellate channels to appeal, is only the leading experimental template for Western techbroligarch free-cloud services. Putting those two observations together: it's very naive to assume Alphabet will mindlessly cloud-host our spreadsheets, graphic design projects, photos, etc. indefinitely, at least not for free. Maybe politically cross-aligned users will simply be locked out at some point, or mayfe there will be, in effect, a ransom demand.

By that token... Alphabet, Meta, and Linkedin have also positioned themselves as Single-Sign-On (SSO) authenticators. In most cases we're not forced to create rewards-incentive accounts for McD, Subway, Canva, Indeed etc. using SSO gatekeepers; but they count on user convenience of not having to remember yet another password and manage payment methods manually. In some cases, e.g. McD, there is no support for decoupling an existing account from SSO - if you want to get away from SSO entanglement in a McD rewards account, then you have to abandon any accumulated rewards and start a new account.
