- If Iron Man (2008) muddies its narrative with flashback-and-forth, Iron Man 2 starts out stumbling to introduce its eventual antagonist without motivating context. Also, the whole "new element" thing feels bad-science-y to anyone with a solid grip on 8th-grade chemistry; it would have felt a lot better if they presented the new Unobtanium like "platinum alloy in a Fullerene crystal matrix". It would have also supplied a comical opportunity for Tony to make J.A.R.V.I.S. say "buckyballs".
