DOMA and California's Prop 8: struck down. Great day for same-sex couples.

Ironed out the last of the web-hosting hardware migration fallout, got to do something fairly easy that made peoples' work easier in Access 2000, and getting back on track after struggling so long with the jQuery intranet app.

Yesterday I was uncommonly chipper. I think 3 things came together: high atmospheric pressure, a good night's rest, diet and exercise. I also skipped my usual glass of wine the night before. I don't think that's significant in itself. Maybe a slight receding of money worries is somewhere in there as well. Picked up a baguette to make chili joes for dinner, and something I hadn't had in a very long while - Steel Reserve. A pint is awfully filling, and 8.1% ABV is kind of weak compared to any half-decent wine.

Castle Age's "Arena" season 7 comes to a close today. I put in a few refills in the 11th hour, at 5FP each, to pad my safety zone a little. Pretty sure I got kicked out of the rank I was aiming for ("Legend") in the final 10 minutes anyway. Prizes are being withheld a few days, pending cheater investigations, so maybe I'll luck out and get bumped up again.

At 12 tokens per hour and 100 points per win, assuming a win:lose ratio that evens out the 5-10% bonus for reahing up a rank... it's 1200 ponts per hour or 28800 per day, but you gotta sleep sometime so lets say more like 18 hours a day for 21600 points per day. The season is 21 days, so it's feasible to make 453600 points. I finished with 349,895 - but I a) actually had just a wee bit of a life instead of being glued to Facebook for 3 weeks solid and b) reached up a lot instead of playing conservatively. Somebody in my FB friendlist bragged about finishing with 600,920 arena points. I'm curious how that happened without, at the very least, having a friend log into your account to cover your sleeptime. I mean, if we all gave each other our "keys" we could win a lot more guild battles. But it would be, y'know, cheating.
