Ear cushions for the Koss KTX Pro headphones: replaced successfully. (Radio Shack branded as model# Pro35A, but all the same stuff). I was nervous about disassembling the headset and popping out the drivers because that's usually when something plastic breaks, but it went smoothly and now is refurbed. (The volume slider still tends to drop a channel randomly, but I can cope with that.) Turns out that removing the driver mount assembly wasn't even necessary. The driver pops out of the mount easily enough if you slip a small flat screwdriver tip in the gap where the cushion folds over the edge of the driver.

In revisiting Might + Magic II, I reached that L5-ish transition period where you can go a lot of different directions, but there's no compelling hook driving you in any particular direction. There are lots of screenshots of area maps on the interwebs, and lots of walkthroughs and "power level" guides, but little in the way of actually usefully annotated maps and clear, reliable directions. So it's a lot of flipping back and forth between sites, and wading through verbose textfiles full of subliterate notes. Definitely a very different experience from my first playthroughs back in ... wtf was that, 1990?

So I did the town teleportal tour from Middlegate, to Sandsobar, to Tundara, to Atlantium to get my Knight the Merchant secondary skill, and got Pathfinding for my Rogue and Archer. The first guide I looked at to try to find the Walk/Water spell put me totally off-track - it turns out it's right at (11,1) in the same CRON map as Middlegate.

For my next trick I want to find Corak's Cave so I can get the Lloyd's Beacon spell.
